PhotoIreland Festival 2014: Launch of The Time of Dreaming the World Awake by Yvette Monahan and Texas by Kathrin Baumbach

An event we look forward to every year is PhotoIreland Festival, a programme dedicated to promoting critical thinking around photography and a deeper engagement with the visual arts. Now in its fifth year, PhotoIreland celebrates a festival every July, promoting by way of a proposed theme, works from national and international artists. The theme for this year's festival being: Truths, Facts, Fictions, Lies. 

 

On Saturday 5th July 2014, The Copper House Gallery launched two beautiful exhibition as part of PhotoIreland Festival 2014 - The Time of Dreaming the World Awake, a photographic exhibition, by PhotoIreland Festival Portfolio Award winner Yvette Monahan and  Texas, a photographic exhibition by Kathrin Baumbach.

 

Opening the shows, PhotoIreland director Ángel Luis González praised the originality and exceptional talent showcased by Yvette Monahan and Kathrin Baumbach. Speaking at the launch, The Copper House Gallery curator Leszek Wolnik commended the PhotoIreland Festival team for their commitment and dedication to the promotion of visual culture.

 

The Time of Dreaming the World Awake, a photographic exhibition, by PhotoIreland Festival Portfolio Award winner Yvette Monahan, runs at The Copper House Gallery from 5th July until the 20th July 2014. Texas, a photographic exhibition by Kathrin Baumbach, runs at The Copper House Gallery from 5th July until the 31st July 2014. Admission is free and all are welcome.
