Description

The Tree of Life and Death is so called because death is inevitable and therefore a part of the life cycle. Honoring the dead is a tradition in many cultures, perhaps most colorfully on Mexico's Day of the Dead. In this painting, fruit and flowers can be found as well as skulls and hearts. There is a reflective orange hand that is raised as if willing us to stop for a moment in the chaotic pace of life.
